THE FINE PRINT
Shipping, returns & privacy
Everything here is one-of-one, so a few things work differently than they would at a shop with a warehouse. Here is exactly how.
Shipping
- Where we ship
- United States only.
- Handling time
- Orders go out within 2 business days.
- Carrier
- USPS Ground Advantage.
- Cost
- Flat $6, whatever you order.
- Tracking
- Emailed as soon as the label is scanned.
Every order is packed by hand in reused or recyclable materials wherever we can. If a box looks like it has been around the block, that is on purpose.
If an item arrives damaged in transit, photograph the packaging and the item and get in touch within 7 days of delivery. We will make it right.
Returns
Every listing is a single secondhand item, photographed as it actually is and described with its flaws. The honest description is the product. So the return policy is built around one question: did you get what the listing said you would?
- Not as described
- Always returnable. We pay return postage and refund in full, including original shipping.
- Changed your mind
- Also fine. You cover return postage; we refund the price of the item.
- Return window
- 14 days from delivery, either way.
- Condition on return
- Unworn and unused, with any original tags still attached.
- Refund timing
- Within 3 business days of the item arriving back.
Because stock is one-of-one, we cannot offer exchanges — there is no second one to send. A return and a fresh order is the way.
To start a return, email us at hello@thriftspot.net with your order number and a sentence about what went wrong.
Contact
A real person reads this inbox.
- hello@thriftspot.net
- Response time
- Within one business day.
Questions about measurements, condition, or whether something will suit what you have in mind are welcome before you buy. We would rather answer first than process a return later.

What we do not do
Thriftspot sets no cookies. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracker anywhere on this site. We do not build a profile of you, and we have nothing to sell to anyone who would want one.
What stays on your device
Your bag and your saved items are stored in your own browser, under the keys thriftspot-bag and thriftspot-saved. They never reach our servers. Clearing your browser storage deletes them, and they do not follow you to another device.
Who sees your request
Loading this site necessarily shares your IP address and browser details with the services that deliver it:
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and serves every page.
- Supabase — stores the catalogue and item photographs.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces. This means Google receives your IP address when the fonts load.
- jsDelivr — serves one JavaScript library the catalogue needs.
- Stripe — takes the payment, but only once you start a checkout. Browsing never contacts Stripe.
Each of these receives only what any web server receives in the course of answering a request. None of them are given your name, your email, or anything you put in your bag.
Browsing is anonymous
You do not need an account to browse or to add things to your bag. Accounts exist only for the shop owner to manage inventory.
Payments
Checkout is handled by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe's own page and never touch this site — we cannot see them, and we do not store them. Stripe receives your card number, billing details, and email in order to take the payment; what it does with that is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
What comes back to us is the part needed to post your parcel: your email, your shipping address, and what you bought. We keep that with the order record. Nothing about your payment method reaches us.
Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about visitors, there is generally nothing for us to hand over or delete. If you have emailed us, we still have that email — write to hello@thriftspot.net and we will delete the correspondence on request.
